Distance running is arguably the most individual sport in the world, you can do it your way, on your terms and when you want, but is there more to this sport than spending hour upon hour alone, pounding the tarmac?

PH members would argue, yes, there is a lot more to be had.

Never been a member of a club before? Thought “I am not fast enough to join a club because all club runners are fast” or “Running clubs are for the elite”?

These are common misconceptions. Actually most clubs contain runners of all abilities. PH Racing Club is no different – we have a vast spectrum of abilities and ages. The members of PH Racing Club do, however, share the same fundamental love of running and a desire to be the best they can be.

You are a runner who wants improve? You are looking for that magical formula to make you run faster?

Well bad news first, there is no magical formula. However, good news, there is a phenomenon called training hard and another known as training well. PH Racing Club seeks to promote quality running by providing quality coaching giving you structure which will provide you with the opportunity to push yourself even further.

What’s in it for you?

There is more to running races than mass participation events, the running season doesn’t begin and end with London or Edinburgh Marathon, there is a lot more than that, even more than your weekly parkrun… PH Racing Club promote the racing of local and national events and even organise the Tilli 10k, a new fast 10k held over the winter holiday period.

As part of the PH Club Championship around 15 races are selected each year from which members can chose to run at least 8 and compete against each other for the Club Championship crowns for men, women and master’s age groups.

PH can open up more competitive racing opportunities. Cross country, road relays…

Did you know that throughout the winter there are cross country relays, leagues and championships held throughout the country open only to club runners? That’s not the best of it, most of the time the entry fees for these races are covered by the club, yes they are free to the PH members.

Whilst talking of entry fees, as a club member associated with Scottish Athletics, you can get discount on nearly all other races entries.
