Karen Kennedy and Allen Marr were back in track action on Saturday at the Scottish Masters Championship at Grangemouth Stadium and both returned home with medals.

Competing in the V45 category, Kennedy took part in the 800m and 1500m and won gold in both in times of 2:35.57 and 5:19.78.  Incredibly these were her eighth and ninth Scottish Athletics medals of the year so far with four national titles among them, the others being 1500m indoor and 5000m outdoor.

Allen Marr is himself a former double Scottish gold medalist, having achieved this feat at last year’s Scottish Indoor Championships.  On this occasion he claimed a silver medal in a hotly contested V60 800m, timing at 2:26.44.

On Wednesday night PH youngster Andrew Thomson ran his own 1500m at the Livingston Open Graded Meeting and once again proved his talent with an excellent time of 4:37.31 to set a new overall club record for the distance.  It was great to hear that Andrew himself was not satisfied with his performance and is planning to go even faster at his next outing over the metric mile.

Well done to Karen and Allen, and also Andrew on their achievements and thanks to Bobby Gavin/That One Moment for the excellent race photo.
