Mixed teams from PH scooped two prizes at last night’s 2 x 1 Mile Relay at Ravenscraig Park Kirkcaldy where seven teams were fielded by the club.

Though most of the athletes who were racing were familiar with the route from previous mile races the organisers decided to start from a different point on the loop meaning the hill was taken care of early on allowing for a very fast finish.  They also sprung a further surprise by having the first leg runners complete the circuit in reverse – arguably a faster route.

First PH team home on the night was the men’s senior team of Stuart Tite and Robert Sellar who finished in third place in 10:03.  They were not far behind winners Ben Kinninmonth (Fife AC) and Ryan Lafferty (unattached) and the runners up, Carnegie duo of Alan McGowan and James Adam.

Kristin Lownie and Dan Monaghan (10:44) were the winners of the Mixed Team title and finished in fifth place overall while junior member Aaron Bennet teamed up with club coach Ben Hukins to win the Mixed Adult and Child prize in a time of 11:11.

Thank you to Gary and the team from Fife AC for organising and to Wullie Law and Allen Marr for the photographs.
