Athletes from PH Racing Club were back on track at the BMC/GAA meeting at Glasgow’s Scotstoun Stadium on Friday.  The 5000m race had been selected as the 9th counter in the Club Championship and all four who took part, though experienced over the 5k distance, had not previously run it on the track.

Each competitor from PH was in a different heat, seeded due to expected time, so there was to be no straight race for the championship points on offer, but Darren Jubb in Heat C ran the fastest on the night, finishing in 16:25.85, to move back to the top of the table.

Next up was Paul Kieran in Heat D who also produced an excellent run to finish in 17:03.93, just outside the medals for the V40 category.  Dan Monaghan took 5th place in Heat E with a time of 17:15.59 but, once again, it was Kristin Lownie who picked up the biggest prize, this time a 5000m Scottish Masters gold medal, crossing the line in 19:17.81.

Well done to all four on a great night’s running.
