PH Racing Club athletes showed the benefit of recent training by securing a clutch of new personal bests and club records at last night’s second Ravenscraig Mile of the season.

Club coach Ben Hukins lead the way with a swift 4.52 to take the win ahead of Fife AC’s Ben Kinninmonth in 4.56.  In 3rd position and 1st home in PH colours was Robert Sellar who dipped under the five minute barrier by a single second.

Recent ultra runner Andy Jannetta once again showed his ability over shorter distances coming home 4th in 5.10 to set a new personal best.  Wright Beveridge and Arron Leitch shared the same time of 5.23 in 6th and 7th respectively, a new best for Leitch.

Completing the top 10 overall, and 1st female, was PH’s Karen Kennedy who set a new female club record of 5.32.  John Crookston also set a new club record, for the V60 category, with his time of 5.42 bettering his previous month’s effort by 4 seconds.

Ed Norton’s time of 6.02 equalled the best by a V65 male in the UK this year, Graham McInnes just missed out on the top 10 with his 5.33 and Niall Balloch ran a new personal best of 5.44 to continue his recent improvement.
