PH Racing Club kick started the cross country season with a trip to Glamis Castle, Forfar for the East District Relays.

Our ladies team placed 4th in the Veteran category with Karen Kennedy making her return to racing and covering her 4km leg in 17.23 before Alison Whyte recorded 16.39 on leg two.  Mary Western brought the club home in 16.34.

Robert Sellar ran the opening leg for the men’s team in 14.05 before Dan Monaghan clocked 14.16 on leg two. Colin Somerville enjoyed a strong run on leg three, timing at 13.51, before Darren Jubb ran the anchor leg in 13.59 bringing the PH men home in 14th position.

It was also great to see strong performances from our other teams, with many making their cross country debuts. Overall it was an enjoyable day and a solid start to the cross country season.  We now look forward to next week’s opening fixture in East District League at Stirling.

Thanks to all volunteers for making such an event possible and thanks to Allen Marr For the excellent race photographs.
