A trio of PH Racing Club athletes recorded new personal bests at The Stuart Duncan 5k in Glenrothes on Tuesday evening.
From the gun, Robert Sellar found himself in the leading group, pushing the pace with a strong 4 from Dundee Hawkhill Harriers, with eventual race winner Mike Herron breaking away to take the win (16.36). Robert raced hard and managed to hold off a strong challenge from Billy Gibson to finish 2nd recording a new best of 16.41.
Just outside the podium positions, Darren Deas found himself in a three way battle with Andrew Leach (Dundee Hawkhill) and Kenny Gorman (Fife Athletic Club) with Darren performing well, setting a new best for the distance timing at 17.42.
Team mate Allen Marr also continued his impressive run of form, setting a new best of 19.30. This was enough to secure the Veteran 60 title and is now the 4th fastest for the distance in the country for the year.
Well done to all 3 on their new bests which are well deserved after their efforts in the recent training block.
Thanks to the family of Stuart Duncan and Fife AC for putting on another excellent race.
