Athletes from Scotland’s top trail running clubs descended on Falkland yesterday for the fifth edition of the Scottish Athletics Mid Trail Championships, organised once again by Fife AC.

Racing Club’s mens team put in a sterling effort to finish as 6th male team, the competition being won by a Cambuslang Harriers team featuring PH coach Ben Hukins who also finished 4th overall.

First PH member to complete the tough 10k course was Colin Somerville in 15th position with a time of 37.36, the other three counters being Robert Sellar (25th in 38.43), Daniel Smith (27th and 4th U20 in 39.44) and Daniel Monaghan (30th in 40.28).

Relative youngster Ian Johnston lead home a trio of V60s for PH finishing just outside the category medals in 4th position and was followed by Allen Marr in 5th and Ed Norton in 6th.

Well done to all Racing Club participants and thank you to Fife AC for the photos and excellent organisation.

Meanwhile at the Highland Perthshire Half Marathon in Aberfeldy there was further success for Anne Hartmann, finishing as 2nd female in a time of 1.26.37, and not far behind Roger Clark who finished 4th overall in 1.22.40.
