Racing Club’s Karen Kennedy continued her excellent form winning the Gold medal in the Female 40 category at Sunday’s City of Stirling 10K Road Race. The popular race which incorporated the Scottish National 10K Championships saw Karen cover the 6.2 mile course in a superb time of 38.33. Anne Hartmann also enjoyed a strong race clocking a fast time of 38.48 while Mary Western reached the finish at Forthbank Stadium in 39.30 placing the leading Female 50 and winning a Bronze medal in the Masters (F40) category. Lesley Halstead covered her 10k championship race in 48.52.

Seven men represented PH Racing Club in Stirling with Roger Clark clocking an impressive 34.46 finishing well up the high quality field of athletes. Andrew Smith was the next PH athlete to finish timing at 36.36 while Johnny Cassells in his last race before his 15th Loch Ness Marathon clocked a solid 37.37. Scott Love (39.24), Martin McNellis (39.41), Jonathan Campbell (39.58) and Ian Johnston (41.00) completed the Racing Club contingent at this flagship event. (Please note that these times are the official gun times and not personal chip times)

Across the border, several PH members were amongst over 50,000 runners contesting the annual Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields. Darren Jubb found the 13.1 course to his liking setting a personal best of 1.18.29 in 128th position, Jonathan Peebles was 164th in 1.19.46 while Jason Buttery set a new best of 1.42.33. Other PH athletes completing Europe’s largest participation half marathon were Leanne Jubb, Natalie Brown, Isla Mitchell and Wallace Mitchell. Well done all.

As ever there were a number of members taking part in various parkruns despite the cancellation of the Dunfermline event.  PH junior Adam Vallance was perhaps the most successful with a new 5k PB of 20.45.
