The big race of last weekend was the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon in Glasgow, and PH Racing Club certainly had some great runs in what was also a Club Championship race.
Luke McNeil was top man again for PH, just missing his club record in 1:11:16. Andrew Wright did break his own V50 record and finished 2nd V50 in 1:14:23. Third male for PH was Barry Smith (main picture) in 1:16:08, followed by two time Club Champion Aaron Bennet in 1:19:28. There was a new personal best for Ally McDonald, timing at 1:25:57, ahead of Jordy Hutt’s 1:27:17.
Top run for the ladies was Evie Menzies with a brilliant run of 1:27:24 in her first half marathon. Clare Graham was second PH female in 1:53:24 ahead of Ruth Harvey and Sarah Paterson. Wright Beveridge, Marc Preece, Mark Mackenzie and Ross Bennet also collected Club Championship points for their runs, in Mark’s case only a week after running Loch Ness Marathon.
In the Great Scottish 10k, new member Marty McKeag was our only participant, finishing in 40:38, while at the Cardiff Half Marathon, Bryan Innes ran 1:28:26. Finally, Ivor McIvor was 1st V70 at the Silver Sands Trail Race, completing his race of approximately four miles in 32:15.
