PH Racing Club’s recent recruit, Barry Smith, continued his superb form at the weekend when he took on the Double Dare at Auchterarder Running Festival. This challenge consisted of running both the 10k race on the Saturday and Sunday’s Half Marathon.
Barry had great runs in both events with a time of 35:55 placing him third overall, as well as top V40, in the 10k race. In the Half Marathon he took the same position, again finishing on the podium, in a gun time of 1:20:49, but with two different runners occupying the top two places.

This gave Barry a combined time of 1:56:44 and placed him first in the Double Dare event. Congratulations to Barry on an excellent weekend’s work! Also running the Half Marathon were Mark Mackenzie and Sarah Paterson. Mark finished in 1:35:36, as part of his training for the Loch Ness Marathon, and Sarah took 3rd V40 in 1:38:48.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Paul McNellis ran the Cumbernauld 10k, finishing in 38:08. Back in Fife, Gillian Wallace bagged another win at the Letham Glen 5k Trail Race, taking 1st female in 23:25. Clare Graham won 1st V50 in 2634.
Well done to all and thanks to Auchterarder Running Festival for the race photographs.
