Our members have voted for April’s PH Run of the Month and the clear winner was Gayle Lindsay, who was nominated for her superb run at the Boston Marathon.

Running as a Puma Project3 athlete, Gayle hit halfway in 1:29:14, before an impressive second half, over the hillier section of the course. Finishing with close to a 6 minute mile, she crossed the iconic finish line on Boylston Street in a new club record time of 2:56:58, taking about five minutes off the record that had stood for almost 10 years.

There was a distinct marathon flavour to the rest of the nominees, with Gayle joined on the list by twin sister Kat, who also ran the Boston Marathon, finishing exactly 20 minutes behind Gayle in a still excellent new PB of 2:16:58. We had four nominees from the Manchester Marathon where old hand Graeme Doig was joined by marathon debutants Luke McNeil, Aaron Bennet and Jamie Strachan, all having had very good runs. Dan Monaghan was the sole nominee among our London Marathon contingent, for his run of 2:50:06.

Away from marathons there were also nominations for Julie Menzies, once again female winner of the Dalgety Bay 10k, Kristin Lownie, female winner of the Ravenscraig 2 Mile in a club record 11:48, and Andrew Wright, who placed 2nd overall at the Gartmorn 6.

Well done to all nominees. We have already had some fantastic performances in May so the next vote should be another exciting one.
