Today’s Shettleston Harriers 10k at Glasgow Green was also the Scottish 10k Champs and we had three PH members running. First home was Paul Kieran in 36:14, followed by Kristin Lownie who was just outside the V40 medals with a run of 38.21. Julie Menzies did bring home a medal, winning Scottish V50 gold for her run of 40:35!

Meanwhile, closer to home, the Loch Leven Half Marathon was once again hosting the East District Half Championships. Top man for PH was Jordy Hutt, feeling the benefit of all those recent Mexican races to finish in 1:26:49. Sarah Paterson was 3rd V40 in the race and also masters bronze winner in the East District Champ for the second successive year with a time of 1:37:54. Michael Lindsay and Mark MacKenzie both had good runs of 1:28:56 and 1:36:10 respectively and Malcolm Hammond was 1st V70 in 1:37:10.

Earlier in the week, Andrew Wright was 1st V50 at Wednesday’s Dumyat Hill Race in 38:48 with Judy Turner 2nd V50 in 52:32. Malcolm Hammond was also back in action at the Scottish Veteran Harriers 5 Mile Snowball Race where he finished 1st V75 in a time of 36:17.
On Friday it was the second event of the Kirkcaldy Wizards Summer Series with the 1 Mile race at Ravenscraig Park. Scott Love was first PH in 5:41 with Lauren Bennet first PH female in 7:03. Also running were Mark MacKenzie (6:03), Neil McLure (6:57), Robert Milton (7:01).
Well done to all and thanks to the race organisers for putting on these events. Thanks to Booby Gavin and Gordon Donnachie for the superb race photos.
