The Dalgety Bay 10k was once again a happy hunting ground for PH Racing Club on Sunday, picking up a number of prizes. Starting and finishing at the Dalgety Bay Sailing Club, and taking in parts of the Fife Coastal Path as well as some local roads, this is far from a flat 10k race, but this did not deter our athletes.

For at least the third time at this event, Julie Menzies was the female race winner, timing at 42:04, not too far ahead of daughter Evie who finished 4th female and 2nd senior in 43:31. Clare Graham was very pleased to pick up the 2nd V50 prize for her run of 52:48.

In the men’s race, similar to last year, Luke McNeil finished 2nd overall behind fellow local boy Andrew Thomson, this time in 34:43. Stuart Meiklejohn was 3rd V40 in 39:10, ahead of Mark Mackenzie (44:01) and Neil McLure (50:16). Our final prize winner was Ivor McIvor who finished 1st V70 in 54:05.

Previously, on Friday, we had a Club Championship race at the Ravenscraig 2 Mile Race, which was the first race of the Kirkcaldy Wizards Summer Series. There was a good turnout of 10 PH athletes with Aaron Bennet recovering well from the Manchester Marathon to be the fastest, clocking 10:26 in 6th place. Kristin Lownie was 1st female overall in 11:48, collecting 50 points to get her off the mark for the 2026 Club Championship.

Stuart Meiklejohn (11:30), Mark Mackenzie (12:53) and Neil McLure (14:39) all ran at Ravenscraig as the first race of a weekend double. It was also good to see Mark Webster back racing after an injury lay off, and finishing in 13:04. Well done too to Scott Love (11:56), Michael Lindsay (12:47), Dave Morton (14:08) and Robert Milton (14:35).

Thanks to Fife AC/Kirkcaldy Wizards and Forth Bridges for putting on these events and to Ross Bennet and Dalgety Bay 10k for the race and presentation photos.
