New recruit James Adam ran his first race in PH Racing Club colours at this week’s Blast 5k at the Meadows in Edinburgh. Having put in some hugely impressive performances at our members only Tour of Fife three weeks ago he followed this up with a victory in the two lap Tuesday lunchtime race.

Having taken a few wrong turns along the way Adam’s time of 17:19 was not quite up to his usual standards but he was able to hold off Harmeny AC’s Phil Buckley who ran an excellent PB of 17:20.

These weekly runs provide a welcome opportunity for some officially timed ‘races’, though at the moment they are run in a time trial format, and there has been PH representation at each of the three races since they restarted at the beginning of the month. Last week Michael Lindsay finished in 19:13 just bettering Scott Love’s mark of 19:15 from a fortnight ago.

Blast Running offer a 5k each Tuesday at 12:45pm starting at the Meadows Pavilion and, from this week, each Sunday at 10:30am at Gypsy Brae Silverknowes.  Full info can be found at www.blastrunning.co.uk.
