PH Racing Club were represented by 19 members at the undulating Ceres 8 Mile Road Race in North East Fife on Tuesday evening. This well established Fife AC organised event saw a quality field of 179 athletes finish the testing route with many superb PH performances throughout.

Jonathan Peebles put in a sterling effort placing 2nd overall in an excellent time of 44.55 with Michael McConnell occupying 4th place in a fast 45.40. Paul Kieran was the leading Male 40 (5th overall) timing at 45.45. Collectively, this PH trio won the Men’s team award on 10 points ahead of Dundee Hawkhill Harriers (20 points).

Graeme Doig continued his great form reaching the finish near Ceres Village Hall in 47.14 in 7th place and 2nd M40 while Andy Davis made a highly impressive club debut crossing the line in 9th place in 47.44. Martin Butcher ran a strong race placing 13th overall in 49.16 and John Crookston was in top form winning the Male 60 award in 52.01 placing 25th overall.

Congratulations to Kristin Lownie who ran an excellent race finishing 2nd Lady overall in a superb 52.45. Karen Kennedy was in good form finishing 5th lady (2nd Female 40) overall in 54.44 while Julie Menzies continues to go from strength to strength recording a 55.54 in 7th place. Clare Graham was one of the leading Female 50 finishers timing at 67.53.

Overall, it was another successful evening for PH Racing Club. Thanks to Fife AC for organising the event including the horticulturally themed prizes, and to Pete Bracegirdle for the excellent race photographs.
