Seven PH members were amongst a huge field of 2165 finishers at the 35th Inverness Half Marathon which was run around the Highland Capital on Sunday. Having driven through some heavy snow en route it was good to find none on the course though there was a strong wind and driving rain at times. Despite the testing conditions however there were a number of notable performances.

Paul Kieran put in a sterling effort around the 13.1 mile course and recorded an excellent 77:58 placing 28th overall. Dan Monaghan was just over a minute behind, clocking 79:07 (37th) for a 40 second personal best. Willie Rennie then knocked 4 minutes off both his own best and the PH Racing Club V50 record to place as 2nd V50 in a time of 81:40, less than a minute behind the category winner.

Kristin Lownie enjoyed an incredibly strong run posting her 2nd fastest half marathon time whilst finishing 8th lady from a top quality field in 83.33. Also writing her name into the PH record books, within a week of joining the club, was Julie Menzies whose personal best run of 91:47 knocked over three and a half minutes off the previous V40 ladies record. Mary Western continued her build up towards the London Marathon and also finished as 2nd V50, and in her case only by a few seconds.

Well done to all and thanks to Inverness Half Marathon for the race photographs.
