Johnny Cassells once again headed for Spain at the weekend where he took part in the Sunday’s Valencia Marathon.  With months of hard, high mileage training behind him he was looking to beat both last year’s time of 2.54.16, and his personal best of 2:53:24 set at Loch Ness in 2016.

He maintained excellent pacing up to the 20 mile mark, where he slowed slightly, but incredibly then ran each subsequent mile progressively faster to finish in a new best time of 2:52:48, the fastest marathon yet run in a PH vest.

All at PH would like to congratulate Johnny on his race which shows the benefit of his training.  We all fit training around our work and family life but Johnny has often been seen putting in long runs late at night really demonstrating his dedication and determination to get the result he wanted.
