There was a good turnout of PH members at Wednesday night’s Brig Bash 5 Mile Race at Bridge of Earn organised by Perth Road Runners.  This event takes place over a fast course but, once again, the unusual heat and humidity took its toll in a race won by Mike McConnell of Perth Road Runners and Michelle Mackay of Dundee Road Runners.

Kristin Lownie was on the podium again, finishing 2nd lady in 32.10 and John Crookston was the leading M60, just outside his club record with a time of 32.32.

Wright Beveridge was the 1st PH athlete home finishing 10th overall in a time of 30.24 and not far behind was Iain Taylor who continued his recent return to form in 13th place. Congratulations to Niall Balloch who, despite the heat, managed to take over 30 seconds off his PB for the distance, narrowly beating club mate Alan Cockburn in the process.

Thank you to organisers Perth Road Runners for another well executed event and to Caroline Hogarth for the photographs.

Finally, belated congratulations to Anne Hartmann who finished 4th lady in the challenging Stonehaven Half Marathon on Sunday.  Anne battled the intense heat clocking a time of 1.33.17.
