On Saturday a good number of PH Racing Club athletes made the trip to snow-covered Broxburn for the third and final meet of the East District League Cross Country where the men’s team consolidated their top ten position.

The men’s race consisted of three undulating laps totaling 8.1km and Racing Club’s top performer was Darren Jubb in 31.11, followed by Colin Somerville in 32.27. Tommy Lawrence was the third PH counter in 35.04 with Wright Beveridge, Darren Candlish and Scott Love completing the team of six to finish 11th on the day and 10th for the three match season.

Prior to the men’s race, there were two PH finishers in the ladies race, this time over a two lap course. Karen Kennedy finished 7th Veteran in 25.03 followed by Mary Western in 26.26 and these performances were good enough to secure a respectable 13th position on the day, despite penalty points for an incomplete team.
