Racing Club enjoyed success at the second of this week’s club championship events on Sunday. Lothian Running Club’s Dechmont Law 10k Trail Race is held over an undulating course in Livingston and PH members left with a number of prizes.
In the men’s race Ben Hukins lead the field home in a quick 36.08 with teammate Colin Somerville second in 37.21. Jonny Peebles crossed the line sixth in 38.10 to complete the PH male team who took the unusual though much appreciated team prize (pictured). Johnny Cassells (40.46) and Scott Love (42.43) were the other PH male participants.
In the female race Mary Western finished in a excellent third place in 43.38 and was also awarded the V50 category prize.
Elsewhere on Sunday Daniel Monaghan continued his recent form at the Run Nation Bamburgh 10k in Northumberland. Dan completed the course in a new personal best time of 36.34.
On Saturday PH’s James Traynor competed in the Lochalsh Dirty 30, a hilly 30 mile ultra marathon. This was James’ third ultra and he maintained his impressive record of top two finishes, on this occasion finishing in second place in 4 hours 24 minutes, behind winner Matt Williamson.
Well done to all and thanks to the organisers of all races.
