All roads lead to Penicuik on Saturday for the seventh counter in the PH Racing Club Championship.

The hilly course did not seem to adversely affect Darren Jubb or Colin Somerville who finished in a highly respectable 5th and 6th place, Darren timing at 35.31 and Colin 35.47.

Mary Western produced yet another excellent performance finishing as 5th female and 1st veteran in 42.03 and was awarded the V40 prize.  The female contingent was completed by Rachel Drummond, Lesley Mealing and Lorraine Abbot.

Next over the line in the men’s race was Dan Monaghan in 38.51, securing second male team for PH, and he was followed home by Dennis Howett, Scott Love and Ian Johnston.

Thanks to Penicuik Harriers for organising an excellent race and buffet and to Image Ecosse and Bob Marshall for the photographs.

Meanwhile, closer to home at the Loch Leven Half Marathon, Robert Sellar was first PH member across the line in 7th place and 2nd V40 in a new personal best time of 80.18. There were also new personal bests for Keith Vandermotten, who once again lowered his PH V50 record, this time to 90.26, and Darren Candlish.

Well done to all on another good weekend’s racing.
