A successful weekend of racing was enjoyed by PH members on the hills and trails with the club well represented at both the Largo Law Hill Race and Benarty Gala Trail Race.

Saturday’s Largo Law Hill Race saw in-form Ben Hukins win the event for the 3rd year in succession covering the 10km route complete with 330m of climbing in a fast time of 45.31. Marty Davidson showed his strength on the hills placing 8th overall in 50.24 while Richard McLaughlin, on his club debut, finished 14th in 57.41.

On Sunday afternoon, PH Racing Club excelled at the Benarty Gala Trail Race which features a 4.4 miles course around Lochore Meadows including a 300 feet testing climb up Harran Hill.

Ryan Lafferty was in top form winning the race in 27.06 with club mate Colin Somerville placing 2nd overall in a fast 27.22. Jonathan Peebles clocked an impressive 27.36 finishing 3rd overall while Stuart Mackay placed 5th in 28.18.

Racing Club’s Suzy Goodall produced an exceptionally strong run winning the ladies race in 31.38 while team mate, Rachel Drummond was in superb form finishing 3rd lady in 33.31.

Wright Beveridge made the top ten at Benarty covering the challenging trail course in 29.57 in 8th position. Scott Love put in a strong race finishing 15th in 31.14 while Iain Taylor and Dennis Howett on their PH debuts were 16th (31.19) and 17th (31.21) respectively. Ian Johnston was the leading Male 55 clocking a time of 31.47 in 20th position overall. Scott Blyth clocked 33.29 in 32nd position, Andy Jannetta crossed the finish line in 33.37 (34th) and Mark Mackenzie timed at 34.34.

There were 223 finishers and well done to everyone who took part.
