Sunday runs

We will be having regular Sunday, and sometimes Saturday, runs at various locations.  These may not be on every week depending on which races members are taking part in but details will be posted here where possible as well as on the members’ Facebook Group.  Please note these are run at your own risk!

Please also check the main training schedule as Ben has now added some specific weekend runs for those with Half/Marathon targets in mind!


Sunday 26th February 2017

14 mile training run around the Path of Condie route, starting and finishing in Milnathort. Please meet at Milnathort Town Hall ready to run at 8.45am.  The route will be marked out so you can’t get lost!

Sunday 5th February 2017

Please meet at Inverkeithing Park and Ride, KY11 1LN ready to run for 8.45am. The route gives option to do 6,10 or 15 miles.

Sunday 22nd January 2017

Please meet at Inverkeithing Park and Ride, KY11 1LN ready to run for the earlier than usual time of 8am to allow us to get through to SVHC Relay. The route is 15 miles but option to do 6,10 or 20 miles.  Same route as 11th December below.

Sunday 4th December – Blairadam Forest

Please meet at Baxter’s car park, Kelty, KY4 0JR ready to run for 8.45am. The route is 15 miles, 2 loops of Blairadam Forest, so there is an option to do more or less if you don’t fancy the 2 loops.

Sunday 27th November – Devils Burdens Recce Run

This is for all planning on doing the event, thinking about the event or just wanting a run in the Lomonds – start 0930. Full proposed route is legs 2, 3 & 1 but option for people to do just leg 2 (leave a car at Kinnesswood and someone will take you round to Strathmiglo to start the run) or an out and back to Kinnesswood depending on who is interested (don’t worry if you want to come we will accommodate accordingly). Pace will be to suit who wants to come along and may be a while on the feet so people may want to consider carrying some fuel. No need for anything else, just dress according to the conditions and take any extras you want (probably cold and windy) and trail shoes required. Gloves recommended for the steep section of leg 2 as grass can get cold and wet!

***Saturday*** 26th November – Off Road Interval Session – Craigluscar Hill

Session is 8×3 mins with 2min rest on a undulating grassy loop. 0930 warm-up 1000 start.

Craigluscar is just outside Dunfermline. Use postcode KY12 9HT which takes you Craigluscar Activities. Then drive forward and when you reach the Y junction turn left and park 100m up the road where the circle is. If the gate is closed then please close it behind you.

Please meet at Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline Glen car park ready to run for 8.45am. 13 miles.

Sunday 28th August 2016

Meet at Baxters car park for 9am across from turn off for motorway turnoff at Kelty.  Do a lap of Blairadam Woods (Kelty Wids) 7.5 miles. Then for people who want the extra miles a lap of Lochore Meadows which will be another 6.

Sunday 21st August 2016

Meeting at the bandstand at Public Park at 9am for a run taking in the hills of Dunfermline including Public Park, Viewfield Terrace, Walmer Drive, New Row, Moodie Street and Pittencrieff Park with recovery between efforts. Doesn’t look like a very long route but tough to run and some of us will be adding on extra.

Sunday 14th August 2016

Starting at Morrisons Cowdenbeath car park 8.45.  Head down towards Lochore Meadows at the Kelty end then through the pit road up via the beautiful surroundings of Lochgelly back to the car park (10 mile) then another 5 mile loop of Cowdenbeath. See map below:

***Saturday*** 6th August 2016

Please meet at The Glen, Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline KY12 8QH ready to run for 9am.

Route is 16 miles running from The Glen onto the cycle path, down into Cairneyhill then through the Broomhall Estate returning to The Glen via Rosyth.

31st July 2016

15 miles from Fife Leisure Park along to Cairneyhill, up to Carnock then return to the leisure park. Please meet at Frankie and Bennys’ in Fife Leisure Park, Dunfermline ready to run for 8.45am.

24th July 2016 – Path of Condie

Another 14 mile training run around the Path of Condie route, starting and finishing in Milnathort. Please meet at Milnathort Town Hall for a 8.45am start.  Possibility to add further miles after for those who want to.

10th  July 2016 – Club race in Devilla Forest

3rd  July 2016 – Blairadam Forest

Please meet at Dunfermline -Alloa cycle path William Street carpark at 8.30am ready to run for 8.45am. Run up will be to Blairadam Forest then back down Cleish and return to William Street car park. 15.5 miles with around 1050ft of climbing. See you all on Sunday.

12th June 2016 – Long run from Dunfermline Glen (change to original plan)

The route is 14 miles (shown in km in photo) but Stuart will be doing an extra mile in the Glen afterwards if anyone would like to do some more mileage. Please meet at Pittencrieff Park (the Glen) ready to run for 8.45am.

5th June 2016 – Dunfermline to Alloa cycle path

This week please meet at 8.45 am at the William Street car park at the Dunfermline end of the Dunfermline to Alloa cycle path. Plan is a 90 minute out and back run.

29th May 2016 – Path of Condie
