On Sunday the Scottish Half Marathon Championships took place as part of the Inverness Half Marathon, and there was double success for PH Racing Club in the Highland capital.

Cairngorms resident Ewan Taylor had an excellent run of 1:15:20 to secure a national bronze medal in the V40 category and 57th place overall in a very competitive race. Kristin Lownie has been in excellent form, placing first female at the recent Innocent Half, and she matched Ewan’s achievement, also winning V40 bronze, in a time of 1:22:53. Marc Preece was also back running this race again and can be pleased with his time of 1:29:00.

Elsewhere at the weekend, Dan Monaghan took on the Glasgow University Des Gilmore Memorial 5 Mile Race around Glasgow’s Garscube Estate, finishing 13th position overall, and first V35, in 28:15. This was 30 seconds faster than Dan’s previous attempt, just before the world went mad in 2020, and bodes well for his London Marathon preparations.

Well done to all and thanks to the race organisers for putting on these events.
