Congratulations to Malcolm Hammond, whose gold medal winning run at the Scottish Masters Cross Country Championships, on the last day of January, has been voted run of the month by his fellow PH members. This is the second time he has won this accolade, having also come out on top for his London Marathon effort last April.

On this occasion, Malcolm’s run of 30:11 over the hilly 6k route at Tollcross Park, Glasgow secured him gold in the V75 category. The second nomination for the same event was Julie Menzies. She also took home aV50 silver medal for her excellent run of 25:10.

Our final January nominee was Ben Hukins, pictured here at an earlier race, for his superb run at the final East League meet of the season at Balbardie Park, Bathgate. Ben finished as the 4th masters runner in the approximately 8k race, coincidentally also in a time of 30:11. This helped the club secure 3rd place in the masters category for the league season.

Well done to all and thanks to Pete Bracegirdle, David McNulty and Gordon Donnachie for the photos used here. There have already been a number of notable performances this month so the February vote could have a few names on the ballot!
