Three PH members made the trip to the Scottish Masters Track Championships at Riverside, Ayr at the weekend and each of them left with a medal from every event they competed in.
Alistair Radbourne once again took on all three sprint events on Saturday, coming away with a V55 category medal in each. First up was the 100m where he picked up bronze with a time 13.35. After a short turnaround it was onto the 200m where Alistair matched last year’s silver medal in a time of 27.71. Finally, he won 400m bronze with a single lap time of 65.42.
Meanwhile, Ed Norton was taking on a middle distance double and collected V70 gold in both the 800m and 1500m for the fourth year in a row. Ed’s times were 2:50.79 and 5:49.69 respectively. By our count that makes it a grand total of 23 Scottish titles in total for Ed across road, track and cross country but it’s quite possible we have missed some along the way.

Ed had been celebrating too much so Mark Western was the only PH athlete running in the 5000m which took place on Sunday. Mark added to the medal haul winning V60 bronze for his time of 19:59, which is also a PH club record.
Also on Saturday, Ben Hukins took 3rd place at the 15km Dollar Hill Race, with 960m of climbing. Ben finished in 1:27:56 and was also the top V40. On Sunday, Gary Pirie finished 3rd V50 in 1:32:03 at the Stonehaven Half Marathon, which started and finished at Mineralwell Park in the town.
Well done to all and great to see our member winning yet more national medals! Thanks to Bobby Gavin/That One Moment for the race photo of Alistair Radbourne.
