Malcolm Hammond beat stiff competition to win our members’ Run of the Month vote for April. He was nominated for his run of 4:02 at the London Marathon which saw him medal in the Scottish Marathon Championship for the third year in a row, this time winning V70 silver.
Other nominated performances included Mark Western who was shortlisted for his excellent run of 3:16 at the Boston UK Marathon. Andy Davis was also on the list for his 6th place run at the Devil of the Highlands footrace, and he was joined by fellow Devil runner, Michael Stewart. Kristin Lownie and Luke McNeil were both in the mix again, this time for their performances in 10k races in Dalgety Bay and Glasgow.
Malcolm will now be included in the Run of the Year vote along with Gayle Lindsay (twice), Julie Menzies and Sarah Paterson.

well done to all your runners but especially Malcolm, whom I have got to know over the last year. I am John Mcfarlane from the Wee County Harriers and at 73 I can’t match him, but have tried in a few 10k’s and cross country events. Congratulations Malcolm.

Well done John, if you can’t catch him he might move up a category before you do!
