Tonight was the night that PH Racing Club were able to get back to training, albeit not as it used to be. After following advice from Scottish Athletics and in adherence to government guidelines we were able to plan a pre-booked session involving small sub-groups of no more than three households. Another innovation was to have a second session in Kirkcaldy for those based near there who were unable to travel to The Loop.
The session itself was all about the speed and form – 12 x 35 seconds at 90-95% maximum effort with a long 3 minutes recovery to ensure everyone was ready to go for the next rep. The idea was to keep thinking about form and running style throughout the session especially when tiring or getting competitive, and it looked like everyone was doing just that.
It was great to be back. Hopefully with the travel restrictions due to be lifted and perhaps larger groups allowed to mix we will soon be able to welcome more members back to The Loop!
