PH Racing Club’s Karen Kennedy secured selection for the Scotland Masters cross country team for the fourth successive year by finishing as second V45 at Saturday’s trial race in Glasgow.
Competing in the 3.3 mile race for ladies and men over 65, Karen finished in ninth position overall in a time of 22:43. She will now go on to represent Scotland in this year’s British and Irish International at Southport in England on 16th November, following on from Glasgow in 2016, Derry in 2017 and Swansea last year.
Also taking part in the trial race was 2018 Scotland team member Ed Norton who finished as sixth V65 in a time 25:04. With only the first two in the category selected and two more chosen at the team manager’s discretion it looks like Ed will miss out this year but it is still great to see PH athletes striving for international recognition and we would encourage as many of our veteran members as possible to aim for this in the future!
