PH Racing Club were well represented by Jonathan Peebles and Mary Western at Sunday’s Inverness Half Marathon.

International athlete Robbie Simpson held off Kris Jones to win the annual 13.1-miler with Cameron Milne third. Simpson’s time of 1.04.27 broke the 25 year old course record for the event that had 2006 finishers this year.

In a highly competitive field, Jonny produced an excellent performance, crossing the line in 1.16.56 in 27th place. This early season benchmark clearly shows how good his training has been for next month’s Boston Marathon.

In the women’s race, Garscube’s Katie Jones was victorious in a time of 1.15.58. PH’s Mary Western finished as 13th female and won the V50 prize with a superb time of 1.28.17, boding well for her own forthcoming marathon in London.

PH congratulate both Jonny and Mary on today’s runs and wish them well with the remainder of their marathon training.
