20 PH Racing Club members were amongst over 2500 runners at the Alloa Half Marathon on Sunday morning which was a counting event in our Club Championship. The stacked field saw two Olympians line up but it was Swansea Harriers Kristian Jones who took the win in 1.07.19, ahead of Central AC athlete Cameron Milne (1.07.40), with Inverclyde AC athlete Craig Ruddy finishing 3rd (1.09.55)

First PH athlete home was Colin Somerville with a PB of 1.17.25, closely followed by Darren Jubb in 1:18.31 and Michael Combe in 1.19.48. There were also new personal bests for Daniel Monaghan, timing at 1.23.10 and Wright Beveridge 1.23.45. Next PH athlete over the line was veteran athlete Dennis Howett clocking 1.25.46 followed by Scott Love in 1.27.56.

In the ladies race Katie Wright of Garscube Harriers took the win in a fast 1.16.52 ahead of Kilbarchan AAC athlete Gemma Rankin (1.18.20) and Central AC’s Morag MacLarty (1.19.43). The top 3 PH ladies saw Mary Western in good form winning 1st Veteran 50, followed by Rachel Drummond with fast improving Natalie Gilliland-Paterson taking off over 4 minutes from her previous best. Despite the testing conditions several other PH members also manged to set personal bests.

Well done to all competitors and thanks to Derek Johnstone for the fantastic race photograph.
