Four PH athletes were at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow in Sunday to take part in the Scottish Athletics Indoor Masters Championships. We had representation in every track event from 60m up to 1500m with everyone taking home a medal from each event entered, including a grand total of six gold medals.
Sprint specialist Alastair Radbourne once again collected a hat trick of medals. He started off by setting a club record of 8.54s for the 60m, before a 400m run of 1:04.03, to win two silver medals in the V60 category. In his final event, the 200m, he was able to grab a gold with a superb time of 28.04s.

In the middle distance events, Malcolm Hammond doubled up, winning V75 gold for both 800m, in 3:01.23, and 1500m, where he timed at 6:02.98. Ed Norton also completed the same double at V70, for at least the third time, in addition to being the reigning outdoor champion at both distances. Ed’s 800m time was 2:57.90, followed up with a 5:58.21 run at 1500m.

Also competing in the 1500m was Roger Clark and he continued the trend, also winning a gold medal, in the V55 category, for his run of4:45.90. It was a superb day’s running by all four of our athletes who took part and put the club fourth on the overall medal table ahead of some well established track clubs.
