Congratulations to Kristin Lownie who has won the PH Racing Club Run of the Month vote for the second time in three months. She previously topped the August poll for her win at the Kirkcaldy Half Marathon.

This time Kristin was nominated for her club record run of 1:22:27 at the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, where she also finished as 2nd V40 behind Olympian Freya Ross, and her fellow members voted this the best run of October.

There were three nominations from the recent trip to the Frankfurt Marathon. Andrew Wright gave Kristin a good run for her money with his time of 2:42:15, placing 6th V50 in the race. Dan Monaghan had a superb debut marathon, running an even paced 2:48:10. And finally, Stuart Meiklejohn dipped under the three hour mark for the first time to also earn a nomination.

Elsewhere, Malcolm Hammond was shortlisted for finishing as 1st V75 at the SVHC XC Trial Race and earning a place on the Scotland team for the forthcoming GB and Ireland international in Yorkshire. Mark Webster was the final nominee, his perseverance earning him a spot on the ballot for his run of 3:09 at the Yorkshire Marathon. This was his third attempt in four weeks at getting a qualifying time for the Chicago Marathon after returning from injury.

Well done again to all six nominees. There is only one more chance to win a place in the Run of the Year vote along with the previous winners from December through to Kristin for October. This will also be voted on by members with the top three announced at our awards night before Christmas.
