Carnegie Harriers’ annual Graham Clark Memorial Race took place recently at Knockhill Race Track and, once again, there were a number of PH prize winners in what was the 11th event of our Club Championships.
Leading the way for the club was Luke McNeil, who completed the three lap, 3.9 mile course in 19:45 for 4th overall and was awarded the 1st senior prize. This leaves Luke with an excellent chance of winning his first Club Championship, provided he manages to race another three events from the four remaining.

Peter Gibson had a superb run of 20:53 for 8th place overall, just ahead of Phil Waring, 9th in 21:00. Exactly a minute behind was Aaron Bennet in 13th position, two ahead of Stuart Meiklejohn who finished in 22:24.

Kristin Lownie was 1st female overall in 23:25 to give her a perfect score of 400 from eight counting championship races and ensure she regains her title. Defending Club Champion Julie Menzies was 3rd female in the race, timing at 24:28.

Other prize winners on the night were Sarah Paterson, who was 1st V40 in 25:47, and Malcolm Hammond, 1st V70 in 26:49, while John Crookston just missed out on the V60 prize, clocking 25:11.

A few days later, it was the turn of our other neighbours Pitreavie to put on a race with the Forth Road Bridge 10k taking place on a hot morning. Aaron Bennet was 1st PH home in 40:21. Sarah picked up her second V40 prize of the week in 43:44 and Ed Norton was 1st V70 in 47:32.
Robert Milton was pleased find out he’d won his first prize in a while for being 1st V60 in the Kirkcaldy Wizards Summer Series. Well done to Roberto and also to Ed who was 1st V70. Others in the top 3 were Ben (2nd V40), Kristin (3rd V40), Mark Mackenzie (2nd V50) and Clare (3rd V50).

Well done to everyone who took part in both races and the series, and thanks to Carnegie Harriers, Pitreavie AAC and Fife AC for putting them on. Thanks also to Fiona Rennie for the race photos from Knockhill.
