Congratulations to Julie Menzies who followed up her January nomination with a February win in the Run of the Month vote among PH Racing Club members. There was stiff competition from fellow nominees Alistair Radbourne, Malcolm Hammond and Paul Kieran but Julie’s V50 silver medal at the National Masters Cross Country Championship was felt to be the outstanding racing performance of the month. The race took place on a tough 6k course at Camperdown Park, Dundee, where Julie finished 15th overall in 27:01.
Alistair Radbourne was nominated for his three sprint medals in a day at the Masters Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena – V55 silver at the 60m and bronze over 200m and 400m. Malcolm Hammond’s nomination was also for the Masters XC where he ran 31:05 to win V70 silver. Paul Kieran was put forward for his outstanding run at the Masters Indoor 3000m where he won V50 silver in 9:41. He also won 1500m bronze the week before, as shown in the race photo below by Bobby Gavin/That One Moment.

Well done to all the nominees on their races which were also covered here in our report at the time.
There have already been a number of excellent performances in March so it will be interesting to see who joins Julie Menzies and Gayle Lindsay (twice) on the Run of the Year vote.
